Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya is one of the most sacred Hindu mantras, central to the tradition of Vaishnavism and is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the Preserver of the Universe,  and Vasudeva Krishan, his incarnation or avatar. This powerful mantra is known as a Mukti (liberation) mantra or a dvadasaksara mantra (a mantra of twelve syllables).

Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya is a very powerful invocation taken with respect and is considered a spiritual formula for attaining ultimate freedom from samsara, the eternal cycle of birth and death. Hence, this twelve-lettered mantra is hailed as the prime among the Vishnu Mantras, the hymn of liberation.
